About the Institution: The Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) is an Arab non-governmental development organization that has a legal entity and operating in the field of childhood. ACCD was founded in 1987 upon the initiative of HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdul Aziz, ACCD's President, and a resolution issued by the Arab League's Conference on "Childhood and Development" that was held in Tunisia in 1986. The headquarters of ACCD is Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, and its relationship with the host country is governed by a special agreement that defines its identity and legal status.

Life Skills-Related: The project title is “Self Development and Like Skills for Homeless Children” and its main objective is to enhance human resources and capacity development. Thematic areas under which life skills are addressed include: Vocational disciplines (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, etc.), ICT (e.g., Computer literacy, social media, etc.), and Arts, culture, sports. The main topics through which life skills education takes place in the programme are: Health promotion, disease prevention, HIV and AIDS and sexual/reproductive health, Healthy lifestyle, nutrition, hygiene and safe behaviour, Social and emotional learning and psychosocial support, Drug and alcohol abuse prevention, Disaster risk reduction, Sustainable human development, Sustainable human development, Participation/rights of children and young people, Livelihoods (generic skills) and financial literacy, Combating sexual abuse and exploitation.
